IOM Summer Race 10: 5th Aug 2019

A fresh southerly breeze and sunshine made almost perfect conditions for sailing on Tuesday – well for Setley anyway. Robin tried out his B rig. Although there was was an occasional nose diving gust, the A rigs prospered.

The seasonal tide is still ebbing on the pond, with marks 6 and 3 now looking very close to the edge. I found rounding mark 3 to miss the mark whilst not going too wide and running aground interesting and on some laps had to make a number of extra mark roundings to do it correctly! It may be time to move it away from the edge.

Congratulations to John T for winning the day with 6 wins in the 10 races. John M and John Bennett got the remaining bullets. John T has also now taken a clear lead in the overall Summer Series.
