IOM Winter Race 10: 11th Feb 2020

IOM Win 1920 race 10

Storm Ciara had passed, but we were left with a jumble of weather varying between sunshine, rain, wind and flat calm – all we missed was snow and hail, though hail did arrive later in the afternoon.
A casualty of Ciara was that mark 3 had blown across the pond to join Mark 4 in the shallows in the northeast corner. Though this reduced our options for course setting, we managed 8 closely fought races. Highlights for me were were the boats planing and nose diving down the runs and reaches and Martin Houlton gradually getting back into gear finishing second in the last race.
