Firstly, welcome tom to Phil who joined the fleet today. He wanted to know which rig to use? It was a day when we needed the A rig in the lulls and a C rigs in the gusts. We did though make a compromise decision with a B rig which did in fact give us good racing. We sailed 10 races.
I say “good racing” but there no consistency with the wind and routes up the beat – yes we did have a beat. John T favoured the right of the beat and got some firsts and lasts whereas Robin and Nigel frequently went from 1 to 6 by way of 3, twice the distance but it was worth it to keep moving.
John T won 4 races, Hugh 3, John M 2 and Robin 1, All 4 boats finished within 4 points, with John M just managing to win the Fiji Trophy through winning the last race.
