The Falmouth Working Boats were boats used to dredge oysters under sail in Carrick Roads. Oyster dredging is still restricted to sail or manual dredges, and although it is not a serious commercial fishery some oysters are still harvested.
The working boats now are used for recreation and are raced vigorously during the summer – more information about classes and individual boats can be found on the Falmouth Working Boats Association facebook page and the St Mawes Sailing Club website.
Mi ‘andsome sports a cheerful topsail in light weather. She is built using a Kingston Mouldings hull and is a development of KM’s sketch plans.
