IOM Summer Race 1, 1st June 2021

A great day at the pond today, wall to wall sunshine and good company on the bank.
The sailing was fun too. With a northeasterly we had a starting line, 8 to 3, longer than the first beat, however we still managed to have the odd incident on the starting line. With the wind off the far bank, it was a little shifty and gusty with opportunities to gain and lose large distances. There were lots of “if only” stories, however in a number of races the whole fleet finished in a tight group.
Congratulations to John Bennett who consistently managed to finish near the front of the fleet to win the day, just in front of John M and Hugh.
