IOM Summer Race 01, 7th June 2022

First of the summer series today, no sun but no rain either – just a gentle southerly breeze.

Eight IOMs had a morning of ups and downs, Phil sailed well and just failed to secure a second place in race 3 when he let John B through at the finish and Martin Houlton led race 5 until he had an issue with the last windward mark. Personally I found the leg from 3 to 8 very difficult with wind filling in everywhere that I wasn’t! Apart from that, luck was on my side helping me to win three races and the day, followed by Hugh and John B who each secured two race wins.
