IOM Spring Race 05, 04th Apr 2023

With a light easterly forecast , I was a bit wary of sailing today. I was expecting lots of holes in the wind and mega wind shifts.
However when trying to set a course there appeared to be wind under the far bank so looked to use most of the lake including 3. While racing we did find that while there could be wind at 3, it was an infrequent occurrence, so after 2 races amended the course to use 2 instead. Generally the wind held up better than I anticipated, giving quite an enjoyable morning. Also the sun shone all morning and there was no rain!
Racing was very close, going into the last race 5 skippers could have won the day. However congrats to Hugh, who got a consistent set of results to win with Robin 2nd and John B 3rd.
