IOM Spring Race 11, 23rd May 2023

Welcome back to Stan today, it is great to see him on the water.

Good breeze in the car park this morning, though went a little wobbly at 10:15, our start time. Generally in a northern direction when it didn’t fill in from the east or west and occasionally from the south.

I used up all my luck last week, somehow I couldn’t get up the first beat without hitting someone or the first mark. I think my helm must have got giddy doing turns! However I did manage a 5th to 1st up one final beat, a bit of “expert” sailing but it but didn’t counteract all my other bad luck!

Enough of my woes, well sailed to Hugh for winning the day from John T. They were well clear of the rest of us, obviously both very lucky!!

With 1 point between the top four in the series after last week, John T’s second was just sufficient to take the series on tie break from Hugh with John B taking third place on tie break from John M. Roll on the next series for more close racing.
