IOM Autumn Race 06, 10 Oct 2023

Though we had another westerly breeze today, it did have some south in it which made it less dire as last week. We also had some sunshine appear, with many skippers shedding coats and jerseys as the morning went on.

The wind was a little unpredictable at times, particularly the long run from 3 to 6 which enabled long leads to be whittled away by the fleet coming down from behind with the new wind. A particular unfortunate skipper was Graham who fashioned out a half leg lead and looked likely to win his first race. He sat in a flat spot by 6 and could only watch as John M got a lucky break to pass him!.

John M and Robin both managed 4 wins with John M just edging the day, Robin 2nd and Nigel 3rd.
