IOM Autumn Race 03: 17th Sept 2024

Sunshine and a “northerly” breeze which held up for most of the morning gave excellent racing today. One minor issue was the sun’s reflection on the water virtually obscured mark 3 for race one. We tried rounding mark 4 instead for race 2, however there was no wind there so that idea didn’t work either. Fortunately the sun shifted enabling mark 3 to be used for the nest of the morning. I feel bad complaining about the sun, it warmed the morning quite beautifully.
Though the wind was basically a northerly, there were enormous random shifts that made a lot of place changes possible. John M won the day making the most of these, followed by John T and Hugh.
