36R Met & S Open 2015

The Met & Southern District 36R Championship was held at Setley Lake by the Solent Radio Control Model Yacht Club on Saturday 16 May 2015. Eight skippers took part in the all-day event, three of which were visitors from other clubs, with the remaining five skippers all members of the Solent Radio Control Model Yacht Club. There was a steady breeze from the NW which persisted all day and a total of eighteen races were held.

The winner of the event was David Andrews from Hampton Court MYC, with Martin Houlton gaining second place and Dick Jobbins third both of whom are members of Solent Radio Control Model Yacht Club. Martin Houlton also won the Roy Evens Trophy, which is presented each year at this event to the top Solent Radio Control Model Yacht Club skipper taking part in the event.

Race Officer for the day was Ray Fidler, retiring President, with Martin Hart and John Tufnal acting as race observers. The prizes were presented by Alan Maynard, Solent Radio Control Model Yacht Club Secretary.
