22nd Oct.: Commercial Vessels Day

Scale Section Captain Charles Chambers writes:

Our new Commercial Vessels day was blessed with lovely weather and calm conditions, a big relief following a period of strong winds and rain. There was an excellent turnout of almost every class of vessel, tugs, trawlers, coasters and perhaps the star model of the Wightlink Ferry?

Paul Nixon was able to sail his Ferry in the calm conditions, however, it nearly ended in disaster when the speed controller caught fire! Luckily the model was ashore at the time and the fire quickly dealt with before any structural damage occurred.

All three of our “on the water days” have been well supported and great fun, all made possible by our enthusiastic members.
