Update: 16th May – No Club Activities Yet

Although you will find the access to Setley Pond is now open, please be aware that normal club activities cannot go ahead at the moment.

The latest update we have from the Recreation Manager at the Forestry Commission is that they are not yet approving resumption of permits and we will be first required to submit our plans for ensuring compliance with the governments social distancing and coronavirus protection requirements. We have been asked to prepare a statement and, together with Sailing Section, we are doing so, and will be ready to submit when the Forestry Commission request it.

ground birds nestIn the mean time please be aware that anyone sailing  at Setley will not be doing so as a club member and any club insurance cover will not be applicable.  Also members need to be aware that Setley is a sensitive area for protection of ground nesting birds and other fauna and flora such as new born foals, new plant growth etc.

Compliance with social distancing (two metres) in the car park, and when standing and operating, must be complied with. In addition Government ruling at the moment states that you cannot gather in a group of more than two (excluding members of your own household), except for a few specific exceptions set out in law (for work, funerals, house moves, supporting the vulnerable, in emergencies and to fulfil legal obligation).

Please be patient! A further update will be posted in due course.
