New Scale Section Club Captain
The Club are pleased to advise all members that the Scale Section has new Captain. Charles Chambers has decided to take on this role and here is a summary of his background.
“For years when living in Buckingham I was a keen model yacht competitor racing 6m models as well as building scale sailing boats. It was during this time that I, along with three other modelers, formed the Two islands Radio Yacht Club and working with Milton Keynes Council and Parks Authority we negotiated the lease of a suitable lake and successfully developed the Club which is still very active today with approx. 80 members.
I was the Club’s first Captain which I held for 4 years; I was also a member at Watermead (Aylesbury) Model Club which had a greater emphasis on scale. Currently I have numerous models ranging from large sailing yachts to trawlers and warships.
I will do my best to continue the great stewardship that David has provided for 15 years. I would also like to be able to reinstate some of the activities that have been put on hold due to Covid.
I am a regular on most Thursdays and Sundays and keen to see the Club continue well into the future whilst maintaining its excellent reputation as being a friendly well-run Club.
