Scale Section Xmas Lunch 2017
On 16th December 55 Scale Members and their Partners attended the Annual Xmas Lunch at the Walhampton Arms in Lymington. We had a fantastic three course carvery meal followed by Coffee and Mince Pies; everybody enjoyed the choice of meat on offer and we also had fish and vegetarian courses available for those who preferred them.
After the meal the Scale Captain gave a short speech to thank everyone for their support during the year and wished members all the best for 2018. Special thanks went to Lorna Soffe The Club Treasurer and her husband Andrew for organising the lunch and also for all her help during 2017. Additional thanks also went to the Committee Members, Penny Coombs, Anne Roth, Andrea Reith and Julia Frost for running the refreshments at the Milford Show and to John Wills for his help at Navy Day and the Steering Competition.
Graham Coombs thanked the Scale Captain and his Wife Lucy for all they had done for the club in the past year and made a presentation on behalf of the members. Our thanks to the Landlord and Staff for their excellent service, and we look forward to next year’s event.
The raffle raised £140 for local charities SCARF and New Forest Mobility.
