IOM Summer Race 8 : 23 July 2024 – IOM Handicap Trophy

Very difficult day at the pond today sailing for the IOM Handicap Trophy. The best thing I can say about it was that it didn’t rain!!

Considering that we had a healthy wind forecast and I actually brought down my B rig, the wind was very difficult. Setting a good start line was impossible, the wind shifted dramatically continuously with random puffs and dead spots. Everyone found consistency difficult, however Hugh came out on top just clear of Nigel, sailing a boat from Robin’s fleet – be careful Nigel, Robin may want to sail it himself! with John M in third. There was one point covering 2nd to 4th places.
