IOM Summer Race 05: 02nd July 2019

IOM Sum 19 race 05b
Excellent conditions, sunshine and a breeze for the Setley Trophy – though wind direction was a little variable at times. The predominant northerly made finding a starting line a little difficult. Initially we used a long line to buoy 3, it was starboard biased but gave us a long first beat. We then tried the plank to buoy 9 which gave us a good line and a shorter beat resulting in a few “comings together” at the windward mark. Life is never easy!!
We sailed 10 races, all were tightly contested with John T, Peter, Robin, Dick and John M winning races. John M won the day and the Setley Trophy.
