IOM Autumn Race 3: 17th Sept 2019

Amazing day at Setley today. After months of fickle, light, variable breezes we had a moderate northerly giving a good beat up the lake and having to be careful to minimise the risk of nosediving on the run back. There was dissension at first as the starting line was partly obscured by the sun’s reflection on the water however this did moderate itself with the sun moving across the sky during the morning. This did result in a number of boats being over the line at the start, some on numerous occasions (JTx4).
The racing was all very close with John T winning from Dick and John M.
