IOM Spring Race 1, 27th Apr 2021

A good day at Setley this morning. The pond was full to overflowing into the car park, despite there being no rain in April. The potholes in the road and car park had been largely filled, and there was some wind though it could be classified as light and variable – a classic Setley day.

The wind was shifting between north and south via east or possibly west, generally sufficient to propel the IOMs, with one gust that came from nowhere picking out one boat causing it to broach.  As I say – a typical Setley day.

Racing was close, there were four different race winners, and just three points covering the top three boats. Congrats to John Bennett for coming out on top.
