IOM Autumn Race 01, 7th Sep 2021

Another Setley day. With the predominant easterly breeze there was little wind in the vicinity of buoys 3, 4 and 5. Thus a course was set on the west side of the lake giving a beat from 1 to 6 when the wind backed northerly. After the break the wind went more easterly and we tried using 5. However by this time an occasional sea breeze came in which gave some lucky skippers a dead run up the beat!
The conditions were baffling to most skippers with there being six different race winners in the ten races. John Bennett managed 4 wins, and just won out overall over John M who sailed consistently to achieve a win and 6 second places. Robin (2), Martin, Hugh and Peter also won races.
Thanks to Peter who lent me a battery in one race after one of mine failed.
