IOM Winter Race 02, 14th Dec. 2021

After last week’s Storm Barra it was good to get on the water yesterday. I was slightly concerned last week, abandoning early,  in case the storm slowed its progress leaving good sailing conditions. In the event I was highly delighted when the decision was proved correct when hard driving rain started beating on the windows at 10:40.

The wind yesterday was a little lighter than forecast and was quite shifty leading to a few incidents at the windward and leeward marks. Hugh and John M mastered the conditions best, getting 7 firsts between them in the 9 races. Martin and John B also had ace wins.
