IOM Spring 2022 Race 04
Wow, what a day. Sadly just a select group of 6 of us shared the sunshine, warmth and a southeasterly breeze at the pond. Recently south easterlies have given a very difficult beat up to mark 3, perhaps today there was a bit more south in the wind, because the wind stayed relatively constant, for Setley anyway, across the whole course.
John M set the course, Robin vetoed the proposed start line which he realigned to produce a very fair line. After one race Robin suggested a course change which John M reluctantly agreed to at first, though after winning the next race thought it was a magic course.
Racing was very tight, I managed to hit or go the wrong side of most of the marks more than once. John B with his new set of sails achieved 5 seconds and no firsts. The wins went to Hugh (4), John M (4)and Robin (2). Congratulations to Hugh for winning the day.
Fingers crossed for similar weather next week.
