IOM Autumn Race 10, 22nd Nov. 2022 Jobbo Memorial Trophy

IOM Autumn 2022 Race 10
Quite a day at the pond today, we had the Jobbo Memorial Trophy and the last race of the Autumn Series in which Hugh had a sizable lead, but the next places were up for grabs between John B, John M and Robin.
The Met Office promised us a moderate northwesterly and sunny intervals, so slightly concerned at the start when a rainbow lit up the sky and it started raining, However this was short lived, the sun did come out occasionally which kept us warm during the morning.
The temperature was probably helped by the moderate breeze turning into a light and shifty south/southwesterly and any other direction it felt like blowing.
John M made the best of the conditions with 4 wins from the 6 races with Robin and Hugh following. This resulted in Hugh winning the series with John M and John B 2nd and 3rd..
There was close racing for the one off race, the Dick Jobbis Memorial Trophy. Though Hugh took an early half leg lead, he was gradually pegged back by John T and John B with them all having opportunities to lead during the last lap. John T picked up the magic gust at the end to take him clear and win the trophy.
