IOM Winter Race 06, 10th Jan. 2023

Having been a little concerned about the forecast, I arrived at the pond in heavy rain, with JT sitting in his car not getting out unless 3 skippers turned up – not being over optimistic. By start time 5 skippers had arrived, though one whose name I won’t mention stayed in his car.
The B rigs were perfectly good for the conditions, with some nose diving but not a lot. After 2 races, Robin joined us as the rain stopped and the sky brightened, though I never saw any sun. The wind gradually shifted from south round to the west and it lost its stability giving us many shifts, holes and puffs.
The first four races were won by different skippers, however as the morning went on John T managed to stay mainly in the top 3and won the day.
Interesting looking at the series results with 2 points covering the top five places.
