IOM Winter Race 10, 7th Feb. 2023

Beautiful day today for the Fijicicle Trophy, with the frosty morning warmed by the bright sunshine. The flooded field over the car park was iced over yet our pond was ice free.
The northeasterly forecast wind was a nightmare for course setting, and even worse for sailing. Every time I set a course with a windward leg, the wind shifted again to make a reach all the way round. Finally, after public demand a reaching was set that gave an occasional beat.
Again Hugh seems to have discovered some boatspeed winning 6 of the 8 races with John B second and John M third. Congrats to Hugh for winning the Fijicicle Trophy.
