IOM Spring Race 06, 11th Apr 2023

A decision making day today. Should we use an A rig or a B rig, should we wear a rainwear or sunglasses?
The rig choice was easy, I only brought the A rig and it was largely the right choice, we only had a few instances of waggling rudders in the air and broaching. As ithappened it was a sunglasses day, the rain held off until after we left the pond.
Had I won today, I would have said we had a lovely brisk breeze with predictable shifts. As it was, I feel there was a lovely breeze for others with big holes that I managed to locate in a number of races.
Definitely well sailed to John B who managed a consistent set of results to win the day. Also Martin who won 4 races, though mixed these results with a few bad ones to come in 3rd behind Hugh in 2nd.
The best news from the day was there was a tractor on site smoothing of the road, so hopefully the key won’t be required in future.
