IOM Autumn Race 11, 14 Nov 2023 – ABANDONED

New experience for IOM skippers this morning. Though the early morning forecast was for heavy rain to clear up during the morning, by the time we arrived at the pond it was raining hard and the forecast was updated to continue raining.
Eight of us arrived at the pond, one had seen the revised forecast, and omitted to bring his boat. Hugh did venture into the rain and start to rig his boat, however a dose of common sense came over the other skippers and it was decided to reconvene and put the world to right in the Rosie Lees Tea Room. We had a table by the open fire, it was warmer and drier than standing in the rain on the side of the pond!
