Without any flow of water through it Setley Pond readily freezes over. However mosts winters are less severe than suggested by these photos and yacht racing and scale model boating continue throughout the year. An exception is Boxing Day when the Royal Lymington Yacht Club take over the pond for their traditional free sailing event! Also, in some years the road down to the pond has to be closed for annual maintenance.
